Security Grilles
Security grilles are used to protect pressure relief vents and extraction openings from tampering, forced entry or vandalism. They ensure that the vent maintains its free vent area (FVA) and continues performing as designed. At the same time, they add a layer of physical security suitable for the risk level of the room or building.
AFP offers a full range of grilles, from light-duty punched steel panels for general protection to heavy-duty bar grilles for high-security environments. This way, every installation can be matched to its required security rating.

SG | Light Duty Security Grille
The SG Light Duty security grille provides medium-level protection. It is ideal for environments where the priority is preventing accidental damage or casual interference rather than resisting forced entry.
Made from punched galvanized steel, it provides a strong, cost-effective option that aligns with the free vent area of AFP pressure relief vents. This security grille is typically installed internally and covered externally with a DWL weather louvre when used on outside walls.

SGHD | Heavy Duty Security Grille
The SGHD is designed for high-security applications and built to SEAP security standards. With solid steel bar construction and a robust welded frame, it provides strong resistance against forced entry.
It is installed through the wall liner and can be hidden behind a DWL or EXP exterior louvre for a discreet finish. This grille is suitable for critical infrastructure or any location where enhanced physical protection is required.
The standard version comes with 16mm diameter steel bars. For higher risk level security standards we provide this heavy duty security grilles with 20mm diameter steel bars (SGHD SR2) or 25mm diameter steel bars (SGHD SR3).

Note: We build the SGHD to SEAP security standards, but they are not certified. SEAP-certified versions are available through AFP’s 3rd-party supplier.
SGAV | Anti-Vandal Security Grille
The SGAV is specifically designed for exterior use in locations vulnerable to vandalism or attempted tampering. Installed directly over the DWL weather louvre on the outside wall, it provides a tough physical barrier while maintaining the required free vent area.
Its construction mirrors the strength of the SGHD, but is optimised for outdoor anti-vandal protection rather than full building-security certification.

G | Egg Crate Grille
The G Series aluminium egg crate grille is a decorative option used to create a clean, finished appearance over Z-Frame units or AFP pressure relief vents. It offers a lightweight, aesthetic cover while maintaining airflow performance.
