EVi-60

EVi-60 | Fire Insulated Pressure Relief Vent

The EVi-60 is a unique fire-rated pressure relief vent, engineered by AFP to meet the strict requirements of gas suppression systems that also need fire insulation. It is another example of AFP's industry-leading design and innovation, as it is currently the only pressure relief vent range in the world certified to the EI60 standard.

Although EI60 rating is not required in the UK, this standard is commonplace in the EU. As for all metal vents that conduct heat well, it is very difficult to achieve.

The EI60 is a European standard demanding that the vent must withstand exposure to 1000 °C fire on one side for at least 60 minutes, without the opposite (non-fire) side rising more than 180 °C above ambient temperature.

Unlike traditional solutions that rely on intumescent grilles (which block airflow at high temperatures), the EVi-60 continues to function fully, even during a fire. This performance is certified in both directions, ensuring pressure relief whether fire or suppression gas pressure builds internally or externally.

This level of reliability is critical in data centres, pharmaceutical manufacturing, energy facilities, and critical infrastructure, where maintaining safe pressure balance under fire conditions is essential.
